SAIC Yuejin C500: A New Height for China’s Light Truck Industry

Since its debut, Yuejin C500 light truck made by SAIC has received wide acclaims from customers, becoming the leading truck model for Yuejin.

Chiefly targeted at the urban and suburban logistic services, Yuejin C500 light truck equipped with SAIC H series engine is jointly developed by SAIC and the UK-based Ricardo. With the new generation of four-valve technologies and light weight technologies, the truck has successfully cut its body weight and improved its overall energy efficiency.

More specifically, Yuejin C500 light truck is able to cut fuel consumption by 10% compared with that of its counterparts. With more integrated design, the truck helps its operators cut their maintenance costs significantly. Thanks to the VNT turbocharger made by Honeywel, the truck’s H series engine made by SAIC is able to reach a torque of 300 N.m at a rotation speed of 1,200 r.p.m. It can reach its maximum torque of 360 N.m at a rotation speed of 1,600-2,400 r.p.m.
