Geely to deliver 100 units methanol heavy trucks to Gansu

October 24, 2022, Gansu, China, On October 13, Geely New Energy Commercial Vehicle, Yumen Xiangtian and Gansu Guang’ao held an online signing ceremony for 100 units methanol heavy trucks. The three parties will jointly build a complete methanol transportation capacity and methanol refueling ecology in Jiuquan, Gansu, and form a methanol heavy truck transportation network centered on Jiuquan, radiating surrounding Shaanxi, Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia and other provinces and cities, to build China's first green methanol ecological logistics demonstration city and the first demonstration route.

This signing is a key project for the cooperation between Geely New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group and Jiuquan Municipal Government on the basis of the consensus on promoting zero-carbon logistics, zero-carbon parks and zero-carbon cities in Jiuquan City with local logistics enterprises. The first batch of 100 units methanol heavy trucks will join Yumen Xiangtian's energy transportation business to provide economical and efficient methanol heavy truck capacity for local logistics.
 

Methanol energy is green and clean, and China's energy endowment determines the stable and reliable supply of methanol energy, which is one of the most suitable energy sources for China's development. Geely has been deeply involved in methanol vehicles for 17 years. Based on Geely's mature methanol vehicle technology, Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle has become the first and currently the only brand to launch methanol heavy trucks.

Compared with traditional diesel heavy trucks, Farizon methanol heavy trucks can save 18%-32% in fuel costs. Focusing on the ecological construction of methanol transport capacity, Geely New Energy Commercial Vehicle accelerated the promotion and application of methanol commercial vehicles and green methanol, and build a complete green methanol ecological industrial chain composed of methanol commercial vehicle, green methanol energy industry, methanol heavy truck manufacturing industry, methanol transportation and filling system, methanol heavy truck capacity system, etc. At present, Geely has promoted the application of Farizon methanol heavy trucks in Gansu, Xinjiang, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Qinghai, Guizhou, Hainan and other provinces and cities and formed large-scale operations. Among them, more than 110 units methanol heavy trucks have been operated in Gansu, and more than 10 logistics companies and individual users have chosen Farizon methanol heavy trucks. The products involve methanol tractors, methanol hazardous chemicals transport vehicles, methanol dump trucks and other categories. The economy, reliability and applicability have been fully verified, and received unanimously praise from users.
