XCMG XCA2600 operated with high efficiency in Inner Mongolia

June 28, 2023, Inner Mongolia, China, Good news has emerged from the Datang Qingshuihe Wanjiazhai 200MW Wind-Solar Complementary Project! The XCMG XCA2600 wheeled crane, known as the "World's First Crane," has been operating at full capacity since its arrival in early May, averaging the installation of one wind turbine every three days.
The project plans to install 30 units of 6.7MW wind turbines, which are the largest in the wind power industry in western Inner Mongolia. The "World's First Crane," XCA2600, is expected to serve this project until August this year. The turbines being lifted in this operation have a height of 110 meters, a rotor diameter of 191 meters, and a rotor weight of 139 tons. The task not only requires ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment but also demands quick completion of the assembly work between the rotor and the nacelle, taking advantage of favorable wind conditions and facing significant challenges and time constraints in the lifting process.

"During the lifting process, the rotor can be safely raised to a height of 110 meters in just 17 minutes. The XCMG 2600-ton crane's advantages of quick assembly and disassembly, efficient relocation, and convenience have greatly improved the construction efficiency of the project," praised the on-site construction manager about the "World's First Crane."

Upon completion, the project is expected to drive social and economic development in Qingshuihe County, as well as improve the energy structure of the Inner Mongolia power grid. It will save approximately 150,000 tons of standard coal consumption annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 400,000 tons. This project holds significant importance for Inner Mongolia in its efforts to build a green, low-carbon, multi-energy complementary, safe, and efficient modern energy system.
