Iveco participates in the FIA 2023 European Truck Championship

July 4, 2023, Turin, Italy, As an official partner of ETRC 2023, Iveco provided Iveco S-WAY LNG natural gas walking trucks to assist in the decarbonization goals of the European Truck Racing Association (ETRA), and for the first time, offered Iveco eTruck as a performance truck.

Iveco brought its commitment to decarbonization to the 2023 FIA European Truck Championship, with its core concept of sustainable development and the use of low emission and alternative energy powered vehicles.

Iveco, as the technical sponsor of the joint team "Die Bullen von IVECO" of the Schwabentruck and Hahn teams, participated in the FIA 2023 European Truck Championship. The participating team is driving a further upgraded Iveco S-WAY-R racing car, which has excellent performance.

The Iveco S-WAY-R truck driven by the team used hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO) in all tournaments, reducing emissions while still delivering outstanding performance.

As the official partner of the 2023 FIA European Truck Championship, Iveco has supported the European Truck Racing Association (ETRA) for three consecutive years in achieving its net zero emissions target by 2038. Its Iveco S-WAY LNG natural gas truck is the first truck in the FIA European Truck Championship to adopt alternative traction.

The Iveco S-WAY LNG model is an undisputed leader in the field of sustainable long-distance transportation for natural gas trucks, aiming to significantly reduce fuel consumption and pollution.

IVECO eTruck is an electric S-WAY heavy truck, equipped with an electric rear axle from FPT Industrial, the sisters brand of IVECO Group, with a maximum power of 840 kW. The peak charging power of eTruck is 522 kilowatts, and its range allows the vehicle to complete the entire race. The car has 4 batteries with a total energy storage of 252 kilowatt hours.

The IVECO S-WAY LNG walking truck is powered by bio liquefied natural gas stored in two 540 liter fuel tanks, which can hold at least 390 kilograms of liquid bio natural gas and can travel 1600 kilometers at once. Compared with diesel, it produces much lower emissions of nitrogen oxides and particulate matter, and can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 95%.
