The construction of the Sichuan-Tibet Railway is faced with immense challenges due to the significant variation in altitude, harsh natural environment, and difficult terrain. These factors put the reliability of construction equipment to the test, particularly in the thin oxygen environment of the plateau, where engines are prone to experience power drop due to "high altitude sickness."
